State Requirement Nail Technology Course (350 hours)
To develop student's personal and professional potential to offer high-quality service that will be sought after by both clients and employers. To train students in the theory and techniques using a balanced blend of theoretical and practical knowledge while preparing them to seek gainful employment as a nail technician or in a related field. This includes but is not limited to manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, gel nails, nail wrap, nail art, and other techniques and treatments taught in the program. To offer training that is equivalent to and exceeds state-recognized curriculum. To prepare students for state board exams by providing accurate information about the rules and regulations as well as the process of registration and testing.
This course requires 350 hours (theory/practical 300 hours and 50 hours for the clinic). It covers the theoretical knowledge in Nail Technology that will become the foundation for applying mechanical skills. The combination of experience and skill is a vital part of becoming a licensed Nail Technician. Materials will also include a basic requirements set forth by the State of Hawaii Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. (Approved by State of Hawaii).
